Vertical wind tunnel was developed in order to simulate parachuting. Hovering freely in the tunnel resembles free fall, exactly what a parachutist experiences before opening the parachute except that you do not need to jump out of an airplane. The tunnel has glass walls and the wind is coming from electric motors which can produce up to 300km/h.
